What is all-inclusive pricing?

Beginning July 1, 2024, California SB 478 requires businesses to include all mandatory fees or surcharges in the displayed price. In other words, the price needs to be "all-inclusive" and reflect the amount the user must pay. Only certain government taxes and shipping costs can be excluded from the displayed price.

ActivityHero requires all providers to comply with this law.

The price displayed on activity pages and widgets will be "all-inclusive" and include all required fess. There will be an information icon for users to see the price details before adding the session to the cart.

The Shopping Cart page will also display the details of all mandatory additional fees, as well as optional fees such as extended care.

Visit the SB 478 FAQs for more information.

Even if your programs are not in California, the prices shown will be displayed as described above. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has released a proposal to require additional fees to be shown in the prices that consumers see. Companies such as Ticketmaster and other event sites are now including all fees in their prices.
