WePay to Stripe Transition FAQ

ActivityHero will begin processing credit card payments with Stripe starting July 28, 2024.

Why is ActivityHero changing payment processors?

JPMorgan Chase, the parent company of WePay, is sunsetting the current version of WePay payment processing in 2024. They do not have an alternate service for the needs of our customers at this time.

What is the timeline to transition to Stripe?

ActivityHero providers can begin setting up their Stripe account immediately with no impact to current transactions or payments. You will continue to get paid as usual via WePay during this transition period. The deadline to complete your account is July 26, 2024 to avoid unnecessary delays in being paid by direct deposit.

Are there any changes to my fees?

The fees charged by ActivityHero will remain the same. Currently, the credit card fee is refunded if there is a full refund. After the transition to Stripe, the only time that credit card and other fees will be refunded is if the purchase is eligible for the 24-hour cancellation

Will families be impacted by this transition?

Credit cards that were saved and charged through WePay will be migrated to Stripe so that customers can easily complete new registrations.

Can refunds be issued for payments made before the switch to Stripe?

You will be able to issue refunds for payments processed by WePay until October 1, 2024.

Do I need to create another Stripe account if I already have one?

Yes, you will need to create another Stripe that is connected to ActivityHero. You will know that the new account is connected to ActivityHero when you see the ActivityHero logo on the left side of the Stripe screen.
