Standards for On-Demand Pre-recorded Videos

An On-Demand session can have one video. The video will be hosted by ActivityHero and is viewable from the user's ActivityHero account. This ensures that only the account holder has access to the videos.

See these guidelines to prepare your pre-recorded video.

Standards for Video Quality:

  • Video is recorded in landscape mode with a 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio. This is the aspect ratio used in Zoom and most cameras.

  • Video movement is stabilized.

  • Good lighting and simple, uncluttered background so the subject is clear and crisp at all times.

  • The audio quality is loud and clear and there is no background noise or interference

  • Edit out any long pauses or segments that are not engaging to watch.

  • The recommended video length is 15-30 minutes long. If you plan to offer your recording for free, 5 minutes is sufficient.

Note that all videos will be reviewed by ActivityHero staff. Content that does not meet these standards will be unpublished in the marketplace.

Rules Regarding Content Verification:

  • You must own all rights to the content in your video.
  • Your video must be suitable for a family audience and contain only content that is suitable for a general audience, no inappropriate content.

Suggestions to keep in mind when making your On-Demand Videos:

  • To produce a high-quality video that is optimized for self-paced learning, it may be worth the time investment to write out a script and plan out how you will record the audio and visual components.
  • For a hands-on class, you may want to record the demonstration from two different angles, perhaps from the top and the side view. Then record a voiceover that explains what you are doing.
  • For a class where you are sharing your computer screen, you can record yourself first with the camera on you. Then playback your recording as you record your screen.
